A friend once told me that nothing tastes as good as feeling skinny. I told her that she obviously hasn’t had a “Five Guys Burgers Fries” double-stack Burger before!
Starving your self is the most common mistake that brides make when trying to lose weight for their wedding day. Restricting calories and feeling hungry day after day can take a huge toll on your mind and body. Any bride can tell you that feeling hungry while having to make wedding planning decisions is the perfect combination to becoming stressed out and unhappy. Not eating causes moodiness but worse of all it can trigger binge eating and weight gain!
When your body doesn’t get enough calories to function, your metabolism begins to slow down. Your brain tells your metabolism that it doesn’t know when the body is going to get more energy (calories) so it needs to stop burning calories so fast ( burning calories = losing pounds). As a result, your body stores your fat, in fear that it won’t be fed enough to survive!
In order to shed unwanted pounds for your wedding the healthy way you need to keep your metabolism going. Your metabolism is like a furnace. The more it is fed the more fat your body will burn. Here are a few Wedding Weight Loss tips to keep your internal furnace nice and hot:
1. ) Eat smaller meals through out the day. Eating 6 smaller meals as opposed to just 3 big meals will trick the body into believing that it is fed more often than normal. If your body is confident that it’s next meal is right around the corner, your metabolism will be more inclined to burn extra fat to accommodate the next meal.
2.) Eat more fruits and vegetables! Aside from all the great minerals and vitamins fruits and vegees hold, they are also very low in calories and high in fiber. High Fiber foods will make you feel fuller longer and help prevent you from eating dangerous unhealthy snacks.
3.) Time your meals 2-2 and half hours apart. This tip goes along with #1. Eating several small meals timed 2-2 and half hours apart will help your body keep your metabolic furnace burning hot!
Did you know you have Super Skinny powers?
Believe me ladies, it’s a lot easier said then done, but that is where your super bride powers come in. “What super bride powers”, you ask? Motivation of course! Whats sets apart brides from every other woman trying to drop LBS is that they have a huge wedding day to motivate them to push harder. We encourage all of you brides to use your wedding day as your motivation to shed that unwanted weight. If it seems like such an obvious decision, why not step it up a notch and try some of these more challenging Wedding weight loss tips and techniques:
1.) Technique #1 - Determine how far your wedding day is and break out that time in even sections of days or weeks. Tailor your diet and workout plan by setting goals at the end of each of your sections. The overall goal her is to use each section that passes as motivation to reach a new milestone in your weight loss. For example - If you have 6 months until your wedding day, break out the 6 months into sections of 24 individual weeks. At the end of each week set a new goal for you to reach. The closer your wedding day gets the more goals you will have accomplished!
2.) Technique #2 - Use your wedding planning schedule as a diet. For the days that you spend planning a wedding, force yourself to eat only healthy food. This technique works great because as your wedding day approaches you’ll be forced to spend more time planning your wedding and eating healthier food. As a result the closer you get to your wedding, the more in shape you will become!
3.) Technique #3 - Make a promise to yourself to meet your wedding vendors face to face as opposed to over the phone. Obviously, this option isn’t available to every bride; however, if you can pull this technique off, the end results are fantastic. Not only will you rev your metabolism up by moving around all day meeting vendors (instead of calling them), you’ll also decrease your chances of any miss communications with them.
Your Wedding Day offers tons of ways to motivate yourself to lose weight. A good healthy diet + Strong motivation = a beautiful wedding day body!
