Every girl loves a great deal. There is nothing like finding a pair of shoes for 50% off and being surprised at the register when the sales clerk tells you they’re marked down another 10%! We’ve all been there, and we’ve all just labeled those moments as simply being “lucky”, right? I say: “No so much…”
Luck has little to do with it ladies! Brides across the country can tell you that you can easily invoke that “shoe sale” feeling with just a little research and creativity. I can go on and on ( believe me I can!) about how easy it is to get a great wedding deal without an enormous price tag. However, today I’m scaling back a bit and focusing on just one piece: Wedding Favors.
Read the notes written next to every brides’ wedding favor budget and 90% of the time you’ll see “BUY CHEAP WEDDING FAVORS ONLY!” This is because most woman equate cheap with a good deal, regardless if it’s at the expense of quality and uniqueness. But that doesn’t have to be the case. Today I’m going to show you 2 ways you can make a cheap wedding favor look like a $1,000,000 dollars!
- White Chocolate is your friend: Using little inexpensive chocolate candies as a wedding favor is nothing new. Why not try sprucing up an ordinary truffle with a little white chocolate. White chocolate is great for piping your initials or adding ornate detail on to any edible favor. The contrast that the white coco adds, will look clean and elegant. If you want to add a bit more character you can easily color any white chocolate mixture with the use of food coloring. I recommend the Wilton Candy colors at Candyland Crafts for this job. - Pictures are worth a thousand words: Any cheap wedding favor can instantly become personalized and gorgeous by attaching a picture of the bride and groom. No, this tip isn’t only if you’re already planning on giving away a small frame of coaster favor. You can add a nice bridal picture to virtually any cheap wedding favor with these great ideas:
- Tags: Create or buy tags and tie them to your cheap wedding favor. Include a wallet sized picture and add a small message to your guests in the tag. You can be extra creative by using lace or ribbon for ties. Our only suggestion is that you make sure your favor tags are sturdy enough to withstand the adhesive of your image.
- “Process-of” Pictures: Take pictures of you and your girlfriends (make sure you smile!) baking your cheap wedding favor goodies (cookies, brownies, cupcakes, etc.). Then use those pictures and attach them to the packaging. This idea works great for intimate weddings. It will literally show your guests how much love and care went into their little treats.
* TIP : Make a night of the event. Invite your girlfriends and turn it into a baking party! Laughter and happiness are the best looks for wedding pictures. - CDs: If you decide to make a mix CD of love songs for your guests, create a custom pamphlet in each CD case. Add pictures of you and your partner from the events that reminded you of each special song. Your guests will like the mix tape, but love the personal attention you gave to the pamphlets. Those are two of my favorite ways to make cheap wedding favors look amazing. Saving money on your favors doesn’t always have to mean sacrificing beauty and quality. With just some Creativity and research you can finally have your cake and eat it too.
