The “Winnie the Pooh” guide to Planning a Wedding.

The funny thing about planning a wedding is that the best advice can sometimes come from the weirdest places. It may sound a bit far fetched, but believe it or not Winnie the Pooh is the best wedding planner in the world! Although he may not know it, some of his most famous quotes hold the secret to the best wedding planning guide. After all, Winnie the Pooh’s biggest concern was the happiness and enjoyment of all his friends ( Ring a bell ladies? ). So put your worries aside and let good ol’ Winnie handle your troubles. Don’t worry he only charges in jars of honey!

1.) “It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn’t use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like “What about lunch?”
Winnie the Pooh was an easy going bear and didn’t want to bother with complicated people or situations. The same should be said for all the wedding vendors you encounter. After weeks of planning you’ll slowly realize that some wedding vendors love to make things complicated by throwing in extra fees, difficult time lines, or unreasonable rates. Winnie suggest that you shouldn’t do business with any vendor that makes a deal more complex then needed. Always setup an initial meeting with your vendor (A walk-in meet and greet doesn’t count). Be sure to have all your expectations documented and ready to hand over. A good wedding vendor will be able to look/hear your expectations and know if they are doable right off the bat. If your vendor starts asking you to change your expectations or instantly starts throwing in extra fees, back out immediately. There are plenty of vendors out there to do business with. As long as you did your research and are firm with what you want, there will always be someone willing to work with you.

2.) “When late morning rolls around and you’re feeling a bit out of sorts, don’t worry; you’re probably just a little eleven o’clockish.”
It was no that secret that Winnie the Pooh loved to sleep in. Some even say that his numerous hours of sleep was the reason behind his constant joy. As a bride, you need to make sure that you get enough rest during the stressful days of planning your wedding. Getting enough rest will give you the energy you need for tomorrows obstacles. In fact, studies show that a well rested body and mind is more inclined to make smarter (budget-friendlier) decisions. Likewise, getting a good night’s rest also helps relax your facial muscles. A perfect night’s rest before your wedding will help ensure that your face looks stress free.

3.) “If the person you are talking to doesn’t appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.”
Everyone in the forest knew Winnie the Pooh to be a patient little bear. You too should adapt the same persona when you buy your wedding favors. When you start to buy wedding favors for your event you will see that it’s a much harder task then expected. Often times store owners wont have the quantity that you require or the style that you’re looking for. Winnie the Pooh’s advice is to search for your wedding favors on the Internet. Although savings are more apparent at your local stores, just as much if not more can be saved online. Try to Buy wedding favors out of the wedding season (September – January), because they’ll be much cheaper and readily available. If you can’t find what you’re looking for and are willing to wait, mid-January is the time new favors are released.
These 3 quotes from the silly old bear, offer just a few tips for any Bride-to-be. Can you think of any more?
